Director - Choreographer - Performer - Playwright
A SHORT AND SWEET BIOGRAPHY
I am a South Asian American director, choreographer, performer, playwright, and educator. Each of these roles better inform and influence the other, giving me a diverse perspective and approach to my artistry.
Whether a play or musical, physicality is central to my style. Movement and dance are always purposeful and deeply rooted in storytelling for me.

I'm originally from Southern California, but now based in Washington D.C.

My great great aunt, Sugra Humayun Mirza, started the first school for women in India and was renowned for her strides in women's rights activism. I continue her legacy through my art and am particularly excited about shows that explore the dynamic intersectionality of the female experience across cultures and generations.

I prioritize creating an encouraging, respectful, and gracious environment that fosters community and collaboration. We're making theatre. Leave the "tension" in the dance moves.

If you'd like to get to know me more, please get in touch. I especially love chatting over ice cream or a cozy cup of tea!
